Should young athletes get participation awards? No, I think they shouldn't because when you go through life just thinking your a "winner' you forget what really matters. No matter were you are, thinking your already good enough will lead to you forgetting the passion, the thrive to succeed and the hope for more will end. You now feel there is no longer a need to push yourself harder and harder to reach your goals. Some could call it being brutally honest , but I feel we should be truthful with ourselves and each other of how we really are rather then "pat ourselves on the back" and say we are good enough. In games you'll usually hear things like "good job" or "you did great out there" even though you may have had an off day or something else just through you off your game, but you'll hear that because no one wants to shake your confidence unless they're your opponent trying to get into your head. A lot of times what people say will get into your head and that could lead to you making a rash decision that may or may not change your life. Telling everyone they're winners is like saying they are one of the best; I personally think we shouldn't miss lead others because that's lying and deceitful but they should still try their best and work hard for the glory and awards that they crave.

Initially, we are just lying to protect someone else's" feelings. You could basically call us nonbelievers because if you really cared about the other person feelings, you would be honest about what you think rather than what is just nice to say. Dishonesty is very deceitful but many look at it as a way of hiding their negative thoughts. Letting the other person know the truth of how you feel may make them realize how they can help themselves; Even if it's just sending the message that they should practice more. Young athletes need to know the truth so they can set goals for themselves. If they were just given awards then they wouldn't feel the need to be better. After given an award like others, they may assume that they are just as good as everyone else. In theory an award makes you feel like a winner, but a participation award is very self explanatory; All you have to do is show up. In reality by giving young athletes awards for participating, we are lying for labeling them winners when others may have excelled and are ready to advance well other young athletes feel they're just as superb for only trying their best.

Ultimately, I would agree it's always acceptable to try your best because I am a young athlete as well. After many years I myself realized participation awards didn't mean anything, except that I was currently there. Participation awards are just used to make young athletes feel like they are winners too, regardless of how talented they actually are. These awards are used in many events, not just sports. I feel if you properly examine this award you realize that it's just a cheap piece of metal or even hard plastic. A young athlete like myself has been told he's gifted and he's got potential, but potential is stored inside us. Potential doesn't mean your already fit to become a champion nor that you're already a winner but it means you could become one after a lot of practice. If you read a participation award, it never says keep trying or what to improve in, so we think we're doing fine. I personally feel other adolescent athletes don't fully contribute to trying their best; For example, when someone gives up what do they say? The excuse " I tried my best" is presented to many times. If you set goals for yourself and if you really want to succeed in something then you need to keep practicing if you want to be like those who do it with ease. My main point at this instant is no matter how good someone thinks you are even if it's yourself, don't forget that it's a long road to be great and to be a winner it will involve a lot more than just performing.

Obviously, their are young athletes who want the same recognition as others. The awards they seek are for those who are more dominant in a specific trait or area. These participation awards have the same effect as any other trophy, because some people who want to succeed look at these awards as progress. These young athletes are so hopeful something great will occur that any award such as a participation award will be used to try to fuel their confidence. I think it's exceptional to improve your confidence but you should never forget how much work and practice it will take to great at whatever sport you play. With a lot of spirit, effort and passion any one can achieve more than just a participation award; If you think about it, how great will it feel to actually earn an award for all your hard work? Participation awards make young athletes feel like they deserved an award too but If they were not pampered with and just given so much credit for just applying themselves, then they too can learn to push themselves harder and to work for the attention they wish to get. Generally since a participation award is earned, a young athlete would consider it as a message that they are doing satisfactory but without this masquerade hiding the truth, the young athletes will learn to work harder to progress  rather than think they are already at a perfect level for their talent.

All things considered, we should not miss lead young athletes with participation awards because that's lying, deceitful and that doesn't teach them to work their hardest. Many role models try to make it abundantly clear that you shouldn't lie, but it can be interpreted differently when it comes to a person's feelings. When it comes to people it's deceitful to give them an award when you yourself know they didn't earn it. An award is for someone who can do something at a high level but participation is thing anyone or anything can do. You must practice hard if you want to eventually get a skill award but if all you wish to receive is a participation award your only restriction is the time you spent there. Most people only work really hard for something if it's extremely important but if they already think they are talented enough because of the award they got then whomever won't think they need to work even harder to receive another award. They'll think that because they will easy be able to qualify for a participation award. Even though we shouldn't lie, is it the wrong thing to do? I don't believe it always is because a young athlete like I once was trusted what others told me and in many ways that help build my confidence. Overall participation awards defeat the purpose in teaching someone to work hard but without these awards a person's confidence could be shattered when they get nothing. Even though I see both good and bad in these awards, I feel real people and what's around us should be our inspiration rather than a inanimate object that can only symbolize what you've been through relatively to what inspired you to do what love.

Their combined total of good offense and a strong defense has given them a well developed chemistry on the field. Other teams such as the Falcons or the Cowboys or even the Redskins have seen the skill that this team maintains. Their players have been improving, but the playoffs will be their real challenge { against the unknown and lost of top WR Kelvin Benjamin}.

Their top receiver Kelvin Benjamin { out with torn ACL } has been a successful target to pass to for such a young player. The Panthers defense of  Luke Kuechly and others have just been "steam rolling the offense down." Said by one  ESPN's writers.

Being loyal to the players, a lot of hard work, practice, perseverance and determination has brought this team to were they are right now. The top of the NFC division and they could stay there. To end their season their next 3 matchups are against the Giants { who almost beat the Patriots when they were undefeated}, the Falcons who might want pay back for the 38-0 loss and the Buccaneers who have been decent through out the season {6-7}. Other then some new signings their roster hasn't changed much, they are still out to compete to their best abilities just like last season.

Other player who have been acceding on the Panthers include Greg Olsen, Michael Oher and Josh Norman. Josh Norman is one of the best cornerbacks in the league, he's got 47 tackles and 110 yards from his only 4 interceptions. [Rodney Harrison said on NBCSN’s Pro Football Talk that Panthers cornerback Josh Norman is: (1) one of the best cornerbacks in the game.] Greg Olsen is a good tight end in Carolina he has contributed well on offense and at stopping the defense from slowing down their offense. Finally Michael Oher he's never been one of the best { ESPN} but  he hopes to let his "skills do the talking" as he says to show that he has been a strong link in the Panthers success.
