MIAA Student Sportsmanship Essay

What is sportsmanship and how did it affect me in my life? I think Sportsmanship is a way to

appreciate ones effort regardless how you differ, or did in the event. For example I play

basketball, when you and your opponent play to the best to your abilities, if you lose  it’s

always  nice to hear things like “at least you tried” or “good job, you did well.” It’s great to hear
because it makes you feel like you really put your pedal to the metal in a match that you
showed an outcome you can bare.  But if you win or even lose by a lot, it’s aggravating to hear

things like “ you wasted your time” or “I didn’t try that’s why you won.” It’s annoying to take in

because it’s bad sportsmanship, sometimes people can’t live with loosing and sports is a great
example that’s why I used a basketball scenario . Sportsmanship changed my life by making me

not feel excluded when my effort is not a enough to finish my part of the case. Sportsmanship

isn’t just used for just  sports it can be applied in almost any given situation where the goal is to

succeed well trying your best. To me sportsmanship has had a few positive but also some rough

effects. I have heard at the end of a game from the opposing team “good game.”  The

Ironic thing is when the coaches don’t tell them to, the players decide the game is not important

And they will leave the seen disregarding the results of the match because they forgot to

recognize someones hard work. That kind of hurts me, usually when I respect my opponent and

show my Awareness I would hope they too would have the courtesy to tell me how I did.

Sometimes even a “you could have done better” is a way of expressing you care but

Nothing is like saying "what you applied didn’t matter". There is no exception for bad

Sportsmanship because even though some people just say something to not seem rude

It can still affect someone continuously in their life. Occasionally I had team members with

Large amounts of sportsmanship and in ways I grew more confident and I believed I could

achieve my  targets that came up in my time. I think it should be used more often in the given

situation, big or small. Let’s me be honest, How many of us have heard people judge us

when we fail  and how do I feel after?  We all mess up at a point but getting pushed over

because of a mistake or bad decision is bad sportsmanship. I feel not so happy when I

Get ranted at by someone because I missed a basketball shot. How would you feel
Positive effects raise the level we feel were on, but with good sportsmanship we can all feel

good about the way we all treat one another.
